Dwight W. Morrow was an American ambassador (大使) to Mexico during the 1920s. He is remembered as a smart diplomat (外交家). He is also remembered by his family and friends for his absent-mindedness (心不在焉).
Once while on a train, a conductor came to Morrow, asking for his ticket. He began to search his pockets. No ticket appeared. Morrow began searching his suitcase. “Never mind, sir.” said the conductor, seeing how anxious Morrow was becoming and trying to comfort (安慰) him. “When you find your ticket just post it to the station.
