As we all know,culture influenced by country's politics, economy,history and so on vary from country to country. In my views,particularly,it is very obvious that culture between china and the west has many differences.
To begin with ,some words' meaning and use are different. For example, in china, the word dag is usually related to bad things, such as狼心狗肺，狗眼看人低. It is always used to describe a person who is cunning with derogatory sense. On the contrary, in the west,the word dag means friendly and loyalty . If somebody says:\"you are a lucky dag .\" you are not surprise at it. Because he or she admires at your fortune.
Secondly, there are some differences in concept between china and the west. The cultural difference often reflects the difference of sense. In china people lay stress on the importance of community,but in the west ,they emphasize the importance on individual. In china maybe everyone knows modesty helps one to go forward. This is not applied for western people. People in the west are full of confidence. They always pay attention to their advantages but not disadvantages. So when they hunt for jobs. They must not say they are not good at the job.,but they will try their best to make progress and achieve the goal. They must say if you hire them, they will take full use of their advantages to work and make the biggest profit for your company.
Thirdly, our custom is different from the west. In this point i want to say the table manner. China is called the state of ceremonies. So in order to express our respect for the elder. We can eat food after all the elder sit down at dinner. As children we can not eat too fast and can not speak when we are eating. Sometimes we may say we can not eat any more, i am full up. In fact we doesn't eat and drink our fill. There are not these rules in the west. They can talk free eat free. They don't feel ill at ease.
Maybe, there have cultural difference in other aspects between china and the west. The most important thing i want to say is that we should have the right consciousness and understanding to accept these cultural differences. we should open our eyes to see the world . We should absorb the excellent western culture to promote our cultural development. At the same time we should develop and advocate our traditional culture.
Multicultural society
In recent years with the development of technology and economy no one in china has failed to notice the phenomenon that all kinds of culture has appeared in society so called multicultural society. It is true there are some helpful culture for our country in some aspects to some degree. Facing the global situation, we should absorb excellent culture to expand our horizon and promote our development. However such as the impact of the Japanese culture is a shock to the sense of a community. Furthermore , there is a tendency nowadays that the youngs pursue the foreign culture and forget out traditional culture. So the problem of how can we develop our traditional culture in multicultural society has aroused wide concern among the public. To my way of thinking we should combine the strength of citizens and government.
First and foremost, a public education campaign should be launched to inform the public of the importance of developing traditional culture in multicultural society. Teachers should teach students remember our traditional culture in class. Parents should guide their children to enjoy our traditional culture. Students may build the sense of honor of our traditional culture through education.
Secondly , government has made and implemented relevant laws and regulations to develop our culture. Such as the spring festival is celebrate
as a national day . I consider it as a good way to recall our culture. It is an effective way for us to arouse citizens' consciousness that our traditional culture is very important for us in multicultural society.
Anyone of us has good reason to take actions to protect and develop traditional culture . With these measures taken it is reasonable for us to believe that this problem can be perfectly solved in the near future. It is deeply--rooted in my mind that we not only study other country's culture well but also can develop our own culture.
Marriage and relationship between man and woman
Recently , there is a growing tendency nowadays that people in mounting numbers divorce. It has become a society problem and aroused the wide concern among public. So it becomes a heated discussion that how to marriage and relationship between man and woman. In my perspective, we can solve this problem according on these suggestions as i will say.
At the first, marriage should be built on the base of trust . I think we are peculiar friends. For one thing, we have the common understanding about life work and so on . So we can communicate with each other well. For another thing we are familiar with each other. So we know each other habit demerits and so forth. Therefore we should learn how to forgive each other fault and appreciate each other virtue and trust each other without any reasons .
Secondly, marriage should be consolidated with love. That is to say we should learn to care for the other side. They are peculiar relative because we will live with each other in a long time from our marriage to our death. Our destiny contact with each other closely. So if one side is upset or disappointed at something,another side should say some warm words to encourage he or she and give he or she confidence to face and solve difficulties . I believe if we deal with relationship like this , our
marriage and relationship must be fixed. Our marriage life must be full of happiness and enjoyment.
As far as i am concerned ,husband and wife all play important roles in marriage. An internal and happy marriage needs to make efforts in two sides. I strongly believe that a happy and harmonious marriage and lasting relationship will be built with trust and love.
