摘要：A spray device comprises an axially symmetrical rotatable cup 18 the interior ofwhich provides an extended surface 74; a film of liquid is continuously provided on theextended surface preparatory to directing the liquid from the surface beyond an outerrim 22a of the cup; a gas stream is supplied through an annular orifice 22 to impact theliquid immediately beyond the outer rim 22a thereby to produce a spray of liquiddroplets; and an axially symmetrical baffle 80 is mounted with the cup 18 coaxiallytherewith, an annular gap 82 being provided between the baffle and the extendedsurface. The device is useful in gas/liquid contacting applications such as desulphurisationof a flue gas under spray drying conditions using e.g. a lime slurry as the absorbent.
